Lily Mac
Lily
Mac works at the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) as the Community
Information Librarian where she has been employed for the past three years.
She is responsible for supporting library users, maintaining library
services, developing referral tools, and distributing resources. Prior to
her current Presidency role on the CASLIS Toronto Chapter, she served as the
Chapter’s Treasurer for the past three years. She has an Honours Bachelor of
Science degree in Biology from York University and a Master of Information
Studies degree in Library and Information Science from the University of
Toronto.

Michele Melady
Michele
Melady is Manager of the CBC Reference and Image Research Libraries,
which provide informational and pictorial research to CBC journalists.
Michele served as President of CASLIS Toronto for the 2008-2009
programming year. Prior to that, Michele worked as Registrar for the
Toronto Chapter.
Vice-President/President Elect:
Eileen Lewis
Eileen
Lewis is currently employed as the Research Manager at the United Way
Toronto, conducting prospect research, business and statistical
research, and working on portal development and implementation projects.
Prior to joining United Way, Eileen worked in the Ontario Securities
Commission Library, and at BMO Financial Group as a researcher and
consultant. Eileen is a fairly recent graduate of the Faculty of
Information (Studies) at the University of Toronto, having obtained her
MISt in 2008. The 2009-2010 season will mark Eileen’s third year on the
CASLIS Toronto Executive.
Treasurer:
Nancy
McLean
Nancy McLean has recently graduated from
the University of Toronto, Faculty of Information after completing her
MISt part-time. She is the Information Manager at a small sales
organization, Energy Telecom Inc., and is responsible for managing their
customer and prospect database, designing sales campaigns, and is
currently looking for a sales and marketing focused thesaurus to adopt
for records and information management. Before completing her MISt,
Nancy worked at Hewlett-Packard in sales and marketing. Nancy has been
involved in the CASLIS Toronto Chapter for three years, first as the
Student Co-liaison and, as of July, 2009, as Treasurer.
Secretary:
Maggie Weaver
Maggie
is in her second term as Secretary of CASLIS Toronto Chapter. She is a
long-term CLA member and has been an active participant in CASLIS at the
national level, including 2 terms as CASLIS National Secretary, and in
conference session planning. Maggie is a business information
specialist, who is also convenor of CLA’s Business Information Interest
Group. She is self-employed, with government and non-profit clients in
the international trade sector, for whom she develops workshops for
businesses, organizes events, writes newsletters and develops website
content.

Emily Blackie
Emily
Blackie is a new member to the CASLIS Toronto Chapter. While attending
the University of Western Ontario, she was active in the CLA Student
Chapter and served as the Chair during the winter 07-08 term. She
currently works in Business Information Services at Deloitte as an
Analyst. In her role at Deloitte Emily maintains the print collection,
as well as performing business-based research. In addition to her MLIS
from UWO, she holds a B.A. in Honours History and English Literature
from the University of Ottawa. She looks forward to meeting all the
CASLIS participants here in Toronto.

Membership
Coordinator: Steven
Chabot
Steven Chabot, our Membership
Coordinator, is a recent graduate from the Faculty of Information at the
University of Toronto. He currently works as the Coordinator of
Information & Knowledge Management at the Office of the Worker Adviser,
an agency of the Ontario Ministry of Labour. Amongst his many other
roles he assists worker advisers with medical and legal research in
occupational disease and injury cases.
Listserv and Publicity Coordinator:
Astrid Lange
Astrid
Lange has been an executive member of the Toronto Chapter of CASLIS
since 1999. Since then she has held the roles of student liaison, Web
Administrator and Listerv and Publicity Co-ordinator. She has been
working as a Library and Research Specialist at the Toronto Star for
nine years. In this role, she researches, archives, trains the newsroom
on research tools, and maintains a library intranet. As a member of an
award-winning pub trivia team, her knowledge is broad, but the Star
newsroom has come to realize that she specializes in Oscar trivia, the
legal system, the sport of swimming and New Zealand. She has three
degrees from the University of Toronto and before joining the Star, she
researched for a law firm, CBC Newsworld and CTV.

Serban
Raluca Serban holds a Library and Information Technician diploma from
Seneca College and is currently completing her Bachelor of Science
degree at the University of Toronto. She is working as Assistant to the
Board General Manager for LibraryCo and as a library administrator for
the Library and Information Centre at National Bank Financial. She is
interested in the financial services sector and law.
iSchool Student
Liaison:
Dominika Solan
Dominika Solan is a second year Faculty of Information
student, specializing in libraries. She is interested in news
librarianship and issues surrounding access to information, especially
concerning First Nations peoples. She is also secretary of the
University of Toronto iSchool chapter of Librarians Without Borders.
iSchool Student Liaison:
Erica Sum
Erica Sum is a MISt candidate (2010) at
the Faculty of Information (iSchool). She is currently employed as a
Business Reference Assistant at Rotman's Business Information Centre and
is also a member of the iSchool's Child & Youth Advocacy Group. Her
previous work and volunteer experiences are grounded in community
engagement and development. She looks forward to serving her iSchool
community this year and working with the rest of the CASLIS executive
team.
